Shay
Financial Services, Inc. has announced it has added five people to
its Broker/Dealer team to support and further enhance its financial
institutions client base. John Helms and Tim Timko join the Irving,
Texas office supporting the southwest and west coasts, Bruce Strengberg
and Tom Caton join the Summit, New Jersey office serving clients in the
northeast, and Tom Munhollen will be located at the Memphis office
supporting central U.S. efforts. The new team members represent a
significant expansion of the broker-dealer sales force and each has come
from successful careers at other security firms including NewOak
Capital, BankOne Securities and Vining Sparks.

Tim Timko has more than 15 years’ experience in the credit union,
financial and banking industries with five years’ experience in sales
trading. Timko joined Shay from Southwest Federal Credit Union. Prior to
that, he spent several years with Bank One Securities. Additionally, he
served in other roles with CLA USA, Chase Securities and Fidelity
Investments. He is a graduate of Robert Morris University and earned an
MBA from Bentley College in Massachusetts. Tim also served in the U.S.
Air Force.
John Helms spent most of his career specializing in institutional fixed
income and joined Shay from Woodstock Financial in Dallas. Prior to
that, he worked at Micah Mortgage and Quantum G&A supporting FDIC
recovery efforts. Additionally, he worked at APS Financial, ORIX and
other broker-dealers in all phases of the business including operations,
portfolio management and sales. John is a graduate of Rice University
and earned an MBA from NYU.
Bruce Strengberg joined Shay from NewOak Capital LLC where he was
managing director of institutional sales for fixed income securities and
whole loan products. Prior to that, he worked with Castle Oak Securities
and has been with several other capital market firms in the New York
area. He started his career in the structured products area with
Chemical Bank and UBS. Bruce is a graduate of Pace University where he
earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees, and also served in the U.S.
Marine Corps.
Tom Caton joined Shay from NewOak Capital where he was managing director
of institutional fixed income sales. Prior to that, Caton spent 20 years
as a high yield bond trader with First Investors Management Company. Tom
is a graduate of Fordham University.
Tom Munhollen joined Shay from his most recent role as senior vice
president of sales at Vining Sparks/ICBA Securities. Tom made the
successful transition to the financial sales world after a career in
industrial engineering with major firms such as Federal Express and UPS.
Tom is a graduate of Auburn University.
